Ayurvedic Stress Management: How to Decode Your Vata, Pitta, or Kapha Signals

Does stress make you anxious... or angry?

We often treat 'stress' as one generic problem, but Ayurvedic stress management teaches us that stress hits everyone differently based on their unique energy type, or Dosha. In my feature for The Times of Malta (October 23, 2025), I broke down exactly how to identify your specific stress pattern and the 'reset' button that works for your body type.


Identifying Your Type for Ayurvedic Stress Management


  • Type 1: The "Wired & Worried" (Vata Imbalance)

    • The Feeling: Anxious, scattered, can't switch off. You skip meals and feel jittery.

    • The Fix: Warmth & Routine. Sip warm water or CCF tea (Cumin, Coriander, Fennel). Stick to regular mealtimes.


  • Type 2: The "Hot & Irritable" (Pitta Imbalance)

    • The Feeling: Frustrated, inflamed, driven but depleted. You might get heartburn or snappy moods.

    • The Fix: Cool Down. Step away from screens at night. Reduce competitive workouts. Eat cooling foods (less spice, more greens).


  • Type 3: The "Stuck & Heavy" (Kapha Imbalance)

    • The Feeling: Unmotivated, heavy, slow to start the day.

    • The Fix: Momentum. Morning walks. Upbeat music. Lighter dinners.


The Universal Fix: Golden Milk

Regardless of your type, one ritual works wonders for evening anxiety.

Try the "Golden Milk" recipe I shared in the article:

  • Warm milk (dairy or oat/almond).

  • Add turmeric and a pinch of black pepper (crucial for absorption).

  • Optional: Cinnamon, cardamom, or a touch of honey.

  • Sip this 30 minutes before bed to build Ojas (your deep vitality battery).
